My name is Jennifer Mansfield and I’m proud to be a candidate for Wake County Public School System’s School Board representing District #3.  I’m a candidate because I believe the residents of District 3 deserve an experienced, independent alternative in this election.  Like many Wake residents, I am frustrated by the growing political divide which distracts the board members from their primary mission: to improve the level of academic achievement of every student in Wake County.

I believe that a renewed focus on student achievement — as mandated by the board’s own mission statement — can serve as the beacon to guide the Wake County schools through this political firestorm.  I will serve as a voice of clarity and common sense and a representative of my constituents. I will ensure that the School Board maintains a vigilant focus on its mission and common goals. We need a representative with the ability to reach out to all members of our community, listen to their concerns, and make objective decisions to further our goal of increased academic achievement for all WCPSS students.  I am that candidate.

I’d be honored to serve as a representative voice for my constituents, a conscientious guardian of the resources provided by the taxpayers of Wake County, and a champion for student achievement because frankly, our students deserve better.
